A classy choice for a long weekend away, Dubai ticks all boxes. Enjoy year round sunshine, five star deluxe hotels and the world’s largest shopping malls!

There’s a lot you can do in Dubai, from watching movies, going to a concert, shopping or even just chilling at your favorite spot.

A weekend in Dubai.

Dubai is a great choice if you fancy some action

Take a desert safari, visit the world’s tallest building, check out Palm Island and have some afternoon tea in the Burj Al Arab! If all this isn’t enough, you can even try skiing!

GITEX Shopper is the largest gathering of leading ITC retailers and suppliers in the region. This event is huge and has a lot of traction within and beyond the borders of the UAE. Visitors from all over the Middle East, North Africa, and the Indian Sub-Continent are attending the Event.

This high-energy event attracts the biggest names in the retail sector with special releases and offers across the best in technology, entertainment and communication products.

Take a stroll around the Bastakiya Quarter on the Dubai Creek. Among the restored buildings are cafés and independent galleries. Wander west towards the Dubai Museum at Al Fahidi Street, which explores the city’s history and showcases archaeological finds.

Dominating the Downtown district is the Burj Khalifa, at 1 Emaar Boulevard, the tallest building in the world at 2,716ft. Take in the views from At the Top, the 124th-floor observatory deck.

Back at ground level, don’t miss the dancing Dubai Fountains, which spring to life every half-hour from 6pm to 11pm. Choreographed to music, the jets shoot 500ft into the air against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa.

World’s largest indoor ski slope

Discover Dubai’s arty side at Al Quoz, near the Mall of the Emirates (home to the world’s largest indoor ski slope). Galleries and studios around Al-Serkal Avenue include Carbon 12 and the Green Art Gallery.

Fan of a hip swivel and a bit of footwork?

Well, you can bailar the night away at Mazina in the Address Dubai Marina every Thursday and Friday night from 9pm to 2am at a salsa night.

For Dhs50 you’ll get a free house drink and get to work with the professional instructor who will be there all night. It’s like a fitness class and a night out all rolled into one.

Is your idea of a great night out more Monopoly and Settlers of Catan than it is bottle service and queues at clubs?

Well then you’ll want to go to the Recess Game Night in Business Bay tonight. There will be classic games, video games and some nostalgic competitions – running from 8pm to 11pm. It’s free to attend, and ladies get three free drinks.

Weekend revelry

While the city is home to a host of exclusive nightspots – Cavalli Club and People by Crystal included – the weekend really kicks off from Friday afternoon, when visitors and residents alike descend on restaurants all over the city for Friday brunch.

With unlimited food and drink deals, this is a popular activity for large groups to enjoy each other’s company – and some delicious food. The brunch offerings at Atlantis The Palm and The Westin are renowned for their fabulous, buzzy atmospheres.

Beach life in Dubai

If rest and relaxation is your modus operandi, Dubai has you covered. Start with a dose of Vitamin D at Kite Beach, Jumeirah Open Beach, or the (slightly busier) Jumeirah Beach Residence – known to locals as JBR.

Also perfect for relaxation is a leisurely afternoon in one of the city’s lush public parks such as Zabeel, Mushrif or Creek Park.

Another good place to visit

And after Dubai why not to visit Bond Street in London – a home to some of the most expensive retail space in the world.

Popular with celebrities on a spree, this is probably London’s most exclusive shopping area, home to big names, including Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. Neighbouring South Molton Street boasts iconic fashion store Browns. Home to some of the world’s most prestigious retailers including Asprey, Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Cartier, Dolce Gabbana, Hermès, Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren and Tiffany Co. Bond Street offers an unrivalled mix of history, traditional elegance and modern luxury.
